Današnji zapis sadrži dvije teme u kojima je strip zastupljen kao svakodnevni stil života. Kissaten su već duže vrijeme dobro poznati i izvan Japana, no ovih se dana opet puno govori o njima. Japanci smatraju da je postojanje tih specifičnih kafića znatno povečalo sveukupnu prodaju stripova u njihovoj zemlji. Ju-huu! Druga tema jest jedna hvale vrijedna izložba u Budimpešti. Ne želim biti pesimista, ali bojim se da je takva izložba kod nas nemoguća, ne samo zato što nemamo metro...

Dok kod nas u modu sramežljivo ulaze Internet kafići, U Japanu se zadnje dvije godine progresivno šire Strip kafići. Princip je isti, samo što se ovdje nude stripovi na čitanje. Možete se zavaliti u naslonjač, naručiti bilo što, od šalice kave do nekog jednostavnijeg jela (koja se obično služe u brzim restoranima) i uzeti strip u ruke. Mangu, da budemo precizniji. Prvih sat i pol čitanja je besplatno, a nakon toga se naplačuje sitni paušal za svakih slijedećih 30 minuta. Turisti kažu da je to izrazito malena i simbolična cijena, tako da na kraju ispada da su Manga kafići (ili na japanskom Manga Kissaten) zapravo najjeftiniji "hosteli" u Japanu. Naime, obično su otvoreni 24 sata, a za manje od 1.500 jena (kolika je cijelodnevna naknada) sigurno nigdje nećete dobiti "smještaj".
Manga kafići nisu samo opremljeni stripovima. Tu se još može naći i pristup internetu ili gomila kompjuterskih igrica. U cijelom Japanu trenutno ih ima između 6.000 i 8.000, a ovi kafići sve više postaju mjesta za redoviti izlazak. Teenageri zajedno čitaju i komentiraju stripove, a nerijetko se formiraju i različiti fan clubovi koji organiziraju gostovanja autora i tematske večeri. Čini se da ovo odlično funkcionira kao katalizator stvaranja masovnije strip scene u Japanu i da, tako, stripovi izlaze izvan otuđenih privatnih prostora gdje su nekada čitali u samoći. Way to go!

U sljedećih mjesec dana, dok se budu vozili podzemnom željeznicom, stanovnici Budimpešte će imati priliku "čitati" strip Maus Arta Spiegelmana. Ova jedinstvena strip izložba napravljena je u sklopu redovitih umjetničkih izložbi u Metrou Budimpešte. Spiegelman je mnogostruko nagrađivan autor iz New Yorka, a njegov Maus je jedan od ključnih radova devete umjetnosti u kojem je kroz strip prikazano kako su njegovi roditelji preživjeli Auschwitz. Strip je crno bijeli, a specifičan je po tome što su u njemu Židovi nacrtani kao miševi, te Nijemci kao mačke.

  • ovo s podzemnom zeljeznicom se meni svidja. bilo bi super da se tako organiziraju izlozbe kod nas (ili u belgiji) u tramvajima... tko zna koliko se ljudi na taj nacin moze, onako usput, zakaciti na strip? ma, nekako mi se najvaznijim cini da je strip stalno i svugdje prisutan - na ulici, u medijima, na internetu, u kaficima - svugdje gdje ima ljudi koji ga mogu primjetiti... ;-)
